The Nerve Impulse

A nerve impulse is a way of two nerve cells to communicate with one another. Nerve impulses are mostly electrical signals along the dendrites. When it actually comes to passing on the impulse from one cell to another, some transmitter substances (chemicals) are also involved. Neurons, also known as brain cells, produce nerve impulses. A nerve impulse is also called an action potential.
